George St-Pierre will most likely challenge Conor McGregor with win vs Michael Bisping

George St-Pierre the former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight champion at one time, was rumored to be in the running for a super fight with Conor McGregor back when “Notorious” was fooling around in the 170-pound division.

While that potential pay-per-view (PPV) payday may have gone by the wayside as the power-punching Irishman gears up for his first title defense. He may end up on the receiving end of a French-Canadian call out. Assuming “Rush” can win his return fight against Michael Bisping.

This is  according to training partner and UFC lightweight Olivier Aubin-Mercier.

I think what will be probable if he has a win over Michael Bisping . That he will call out Conor after,” Aubin-Mercier told TSN (via Irish Mirror).  That’s what I would do. I think for the UFC, it’s a really smart fight to do. It’s a win-win for them.  This could end up being another huge payday for Conor McGregor and St-Pierre.

And St-Pierre could always go down to 155 pounds (his words).

Nome of this matters if “Rush” is unable to get past reigning UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping when they go to war in the UFC 205 main event, scheduled for this November in New York City (details).

I think what would be possible is if he called out Conor McGregor after, and George wins, he’s the biggest MMA fighter of all-time. If Conor wins, he is too and if  George St-Pierre wins, I don’t think people are going to hold it against Conor.

But if he does win his post-fight speech should be very, very interesting to say the least.  This could set up a mega fight between both legends.

First things first though – St-Pierre has to get though the current middleweight champion in Madison Square Garden at UFC 217 before any of this can happen.
