Striking coach Owen Roddy of Conor Mcgregor wants Nate Diaz trilogy fight next

Conor McGregor’s head striking coach Owen Roddy, wants to see the Irishman return to the Octagon and face Nate Diaz for the third time. This fight may set the pace for future earnings and big pay out fights in the UFC.

Owen Roddy the former European featherweight standout. Sees the upcoming interim lightweight title fight between Tony Ferguson and Kevin Lee. As a  determining factor for McGregor’s UFC return. But the SBG Charlestown coach believes that the fans want to see him trade leather with Diaz for a third time. The next likely fight would be to face the interim champion.

I would probably like to see Nate Diaz 3, but obviously you’ve got (Tony) Ferguson and (Kevin) Lee fighting for the interim belt,” he told Ariel Helwani on the latest edition of The MMA Hour. “If he’s to fight MMA again, it will probably have to be the winner of (Ferguson versus Lee).

The Nate Diaz fight is because those fights are so exciting and this is what the fans  want to see.. The build up is so exciting; the back and forth…there is nothing like it. It’s just a mad scene.

“The two fights against Nate Diaz were probably the most exciting camps that I’ve been part of. To do that again would be unbelievable. As I see it, the fans would like that over everything else.”

Although Owen Roddy wants to see the Nate  Diaz trilogy fight, he says he still doesn’t know whether McGregor’s next fight will be in the Octagon or the boxing ring.

If I was to pick MMA, I would definitely like to see the Nate Diaz fight. Boxing, who knows?” he pondered.

“I saw today that there was talk about him fighting in Australia against the lad that beat (Manny) Pacquiao, Jeff Horn. Who knows? It’s an unbelievable spectacle whatever Conor does, so I don’t know.

“I like the idea of the Diaz fight, but I’m sure if it doesn’t happen next, I’m sure it’s down the line.”

Asked if he would like to see McGregor fight Paulie Malignaggi, the Dubliner claimed that he had already watched the two fight twice and implied that the UFC champion had it his way.

“I saw that already…I saw that twice,” he said, laughing. “It was easy work.”

Owen Roddy is also uncertain whether “The Notorious” will compete again before the end of 2017.

“I’d like to think so, but who knows? I can speak when I’m told, ‘we’re about to sign on this’, or ‘we’re about to sign on that’, so until I see that I can’t really comment.

“For me, I’d like to see him fighting as often as he likes to fight because it’s just an unbelievable adventure. I’m happy to go wherever he wants to go and I’m to do whatever he wants to do. If he wants to take time off he takes time off, if he wants to go again we’ll go again.

“I’ve always been behind Conor in whatever decisions he makes, and I’ll be behind him for the next one, most definitely.”

Nate Diaz critical over Conor McGregor’s loss to Mayweather

mma fighting conor mcgregor vs nate diaz

NATE DIAZ feels that talk of a moral victory for CONOR MCGREGOR following his recent 10th-round TKO loss to Floyd Mayweather will fall on deaf ears when it comes to view of the outcome of the fight.

Many of the  MMA fighters complimented McGregor on his first foray into professional boxing.  Facing  Floyd Mayweather which is one of the best ever to compete in the ring. Nate Diaz only had scorn for his Octagon rival. Which he expressed in an Instagram post Tuesday:

Diaz stated that he didn’t see anything new from McGregor and he described the event as “over promoted bulls–t”, before capping off his short message by writing “Bruce Lee would’ve never lost like that.”

Most of the compliments directed at McGregor from other MMA fighters revolved around the total amount of punches he landed and the fact that he actually appeared to win the opening rounds before Mayweather found his rhythm. Mcgregor appeared to win first several rounds but

McGregor visibly tired as the fight progressed, a state that Diaz has seen firsthand given that McGregor’s cardio appeared to be an issue in both of their UFC fights.

Should McGregor and Diaz meet in a trilogy? The bad blood between them is evidently flowing as strong as ever. The mixed martial arts  fans want to see a trilogy. This is the fight that the ultimate fighter fans want and will pay to see the rematch.

Nate Diaz could get himself some ‘forever money’ like his old UFC rival.

It would appear as if the stars are aligning for Diaz to complete his trilogy with Conor McGregor.  The fight may yet take place at UFC 219 on December 30.

Holly Holm wants UFC to offer title fight against Cris Cyborg

Holly Holm is ready for a featherweight title bout against Cris Cyborg.

HOLLY HOLM vs CRIS CYBORG has been a fight that the Ufc has discussed since Cristiane Justino aka Cris Cyborg came to the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

UFC Champ Holly Holm Down To Fight Cris Cyborg

The Ufc would have to decide at which weight class the two could fight.
Cris Cyborg fought her first fight at a catchweight of 140 pounds.
Holm is a former three division world boxing champion. Holm would welcome a fight with Cris Cyborg who many feel is the most dangerous fighters in WMMA.
“I think the next fight could be with her,” said Cyborg, pointing out that she “already accepted” to face Holm three different times at UFC 184UFC 198, and UFC Fight Night 95, but the fight never happened.

It’s been a long wait for Cyborg to wear UFC gold around her waist after being universally recognized as the best 145-pound women’s fighter for several years.

Following her championship win, Cyborg was almost immediately asked about what matchup might make the most sense for her first title defense and she already had a former champion in mind.

“I’d like to fight Holly Holm,” Cyborg said after her win against Evinger. “I think she’s a great fighter and she’s a bigger girl like me. She’s fought already at 145 and I think all fans are going to like because she’s a striker. Let’s see that, maybe next.”

This fight would be brawler vs kickboxer. Both women are champions in there different MMA disciplines.

UFC president Dana White said he spoke to Holm after the card ended on Saturday night and it appears she is already interested in the idea of facing Cyborg with the title on the line.

“I was just talking to Holly Holm back there and what do you think Holly? It seems like she’s interested,” White revealed.

“I like Holly vs. Cyborg. I think it’s a good fight.”

First things first, White has to sit down with Cyborg and her management team to hopefully hammer out a new contract considering the new women’s featherweight champion only has a few months left on her current deal.

Once the two sides come to an agreement on a new contract, then White could begin looking at a potential Cyborg vs. Holm fight for later this year.
